Nurture, Growth, Compassion offers a warm, calm, and safe space for you to talk about your unique ‘story’ and be truly heard. You are invited to bring your 'whole self' with no judgement, and explore whatever is causing you difficulty. You may have a clear idea, or just a sense that things do not feel quite right. The focus of our work will be based on your unique needs, whether that is to improve your mental health or work towards personal goals. Whatever your priorities, we shall work collaboratively together, to help you gain insight and understanding, with the aim of empowering you to make the choices that are right for your future.
I offer a warm, empathic and relaxed space to help you feel safe, in order to be able to explore your difficulties. The space is free from any judgement and l understand that your experience is unique to you, and needs to be understood as your unique experience. Some people prefer to do a short-term block of 6-8 sessions with a very defined focus. Others prefer to come into therapy and see how it feels, with no clear end. I am happy to work in either way to meet your needs.
I draw on different theories and approaches with the aim of helping you gain insight into your difficulties. When we begin to understand what unconsciously influences us, and contributes to our difficulties or unrest, we begin to realise that things can be different and we can make choices for ourselves. I will aim to empower you to make the choices you choose that are right for you and your future. You may have accessed therapy before and have an idea of what to expect, or what works best for you, but for many people it is their first time and so it feels uncertain and unfamiliar.
Everybody has a unique aim and so the first focus of our work is to identify what you may wish to get out of the therapy. This is very different for everyone and may include understanding what is causing you to feel the emotions, physical sensations, and thoughts that are causing you difficulties. These are often our bodies natural way of reacting to situations. Once we become aware of this it gives us the opportunity to look at why this happening and understand what we can do to manage this. We may think about ways in which we can calm these emotions, physical feelings and thoughts. This may involve bringing in some Eastern mindful influence.
You may wish to focus on how to achieve personal and professional goals in order to improve your overall quality of life. Alternatively you may not have a clear idea but just a feeling of something not feeling quite right. That is OK too.
Within our sessions I strive to work with you to gain a clearer understanding of self. Some people prefer solely talking and others prefer the integration of different tools and practices to help you begin to feel more control over your life and less ruled by circumstances outside of your control.
My experience has clarified that each and every one of us has the ability to learn how to make the right choices for ourselves which can result in us living with more peace, kindness and joy. That may feel impossible right now but no matter where you are starting from, it is possible. I would love to be able to support you to take that first step to the rest of your life.
